Event details

Tonight, scratch your indie music itch at the Jackpot Music Hall, 943 Mass., as JabberJosh, Waxeater, Police Teeth and Texas Instruments all make appearances starting at 9 p.m. JabberJosh, a Lawrence original, is a binaural assault that's balanced by the band's self deprecation. Indiana's Waxeater is a similarly aggressive band with some pretty heavy punk leanings. They rely on tried-and-true, but no less effective baselines and heavy riffs that at times are reminiscent of early Les Savvy Fav. Doors open at 8 p.m. Get there early, if you're in the mood to hear Kansas City's Texas Instruments, a new and particularly impassioned band, that screams its declarations as much as it sings them. The show is 18-and-older and it costs $5 to get in.
