The topic for this week is Letting Go And Loving Others. The Bible calls for us to not pass judgment on others, but we sure aren't very good at it. What does it mean to forgive? When you're angry at someone else you try to (eventually) forgive them, but what happens when you're angry with God? In interpersonal situations, do you judge those who have opposing views on politics, religion, etc? In the proverbial bad boss at work situation, does your faith help you overcome situations in a way other than thinking that at least you won't see that person in heaven? Can one turn the other cheek to a murderous dictator? Perhaps I'm getting too dark, but we all deal with our own situations of judgment and forgiveness. How does your faith impact them? "Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged. And why worry about a speck in your friend's eye when you have a log in your own?" Matthew 7:1-3 (NLT) "For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body." 2 Corinthians 5:10 (NLT) "Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Don't repay evil for evil. Don't retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will bless you for it." (1 Peter 3:8-9)
