Event details

Portland, Ore. band Morning Teleportation stops by the Jackpot, 943 Mass. and fans of upbeat, dynamic pop music should take notice because that's exactly the type of music the band creates. Finishing a tour that will put them right back in their hometown, the band sounds like a less polished version of The Sea and Cake with Sam Prekops smooth vocals replaced with a far rougher, but more immediately engaging delivery via Tiger, the band's frontman. The manic "Just a Figment" transforms into three different songs during its near seven-minute runtime. But throughout all of the band's sonic meanderings, they maintain a basic dedication to entertainment. I other words, they never sound boring, even if you don't necessarily love what they're doing at that exact moment. Tonight's show starts at 9 p.m. and is for people 18 and older.
