The KU School of Music is pleased to present Jazz Vespers at the Lied Center this Thursday, December 8, 2011, 7:30pm. This year’s concert will feature the Jazz Ensemble I, directed by Dan Gailey; Jazz Singers, directed by David von Kampen; the Jazz Combo I, directed by Gailey; and the Jazz Ensemble II, directed by Robert McCurdy. Chuck Berg will be master of ceremonies and will perform on saxophone, and Professor Vince Gnojek also will perform on saxophone. The program includes holiday favorites performed with a jazzy twist, including Silver Bells, Winter Wonderland, Angels We Have Heard on High, I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm, Deck the Halls, O Christmas Tree, We Three Kings, and more. The concert is $7/general admission and $5/students and seniors and tickets are available at the Lied Center Box Office, 785-864-2787.
