The 2nd Coming, “tHe End of DayS” and what did Jesus really think about all that? I think this is an appropriate topic to discuss before the coming holiday. For me at least, celebrating the birth of Jesus brings up the idea of the 2nd coming and a lot of unanswered questions. Questions like: Do people at Tap think about a 2nd coming? Is the 2nd coming synonymous with the end of days? What did Jesus say about this stuff? What did Paul say about it? What did early Christians say about it? When did people state to re-think it? Do you know what the parousia is? Eschatology? Is there such a thing as “super-history?” If you don’t think about a 2nd coming, can you find a source of hope? Does it take a 2nd coming to make a Christian? Those are some of my questions, but I bet you can come up with some of your own too.
