Event details

Jeremiah Burger Remington served three years in the New York 89th Infantry Volunteers during the Civil War. During that time, he wrote his parents regularly. He was mustered in as a Lieutenant right out of college in 1861 and was the first Union officer in the Confederate mansion at the end of the war. Mary Buster, Remington's great granddaughter, will share quotes from his many letters. You will also be able to see a photo archive and other artifacts.

Mary Buster is the great-great-grandaughter of J.B. Remington and Florella and Samuel Adair, and great-great-niece of John Brown. She may take Q&As on the Adair and Brown family histories.
