Crooked Still somehow pulls off a sound that's thoroughly traditional yet all their own. The veteran country/bluegrass combo makes its first stop through Lawrence -- a rare opportunity to catch a band in an intimate venue that's long been playing much larger stages around the world. These five musicians from Boston are classically trained -- but they wield their instruments like they've been bored with technical proficiency for years. Fans of Neko Case will find lead vocalist Aoife O'Donovan's voice a welcome complement to her bandmates, masters all on fiddle, cello, upright bass and banjo.
