Event details

From the promoters: Downtown Lawrence’s “Final Fridays” event has been a hit the last few months and the historic Eldridge hotel is continuing to participate on Oct 29. The Eldridge is inviting artists to participate in a pumpkin carving art-work to celebrate October & Halloween that will be displayed in the hotel beginning Friday, Oct 29 through Halloween.

Open to artists of all ages (organizations or individual artists may be represented). Pumpkins will be displayed throughout the hotel (Jayhawker Bar, TEN Restaurant, Lobby). Must be a real pumpkin or gourd; may be carved, painted, or otherwise decorated. Anything tasteful. No real candles will be allowed in your pumpkins; please supply a battery powered candle if your pumpkin needs to be lit from within.

Please supply the following with your pumpkin art: Name / Organization / Title / Contact Info (telephone & email). In 50 words or less give the inspiration for your design. Your name & description will be displayed with the art. Space is limited.

Please call Patti McCormick at 785-830-3944 ASAP to reserve space; first come-first served. Please deliver pumpkins to The Eldridge on Thursday, October 28 between 9am-6pm. Pickup: Pumpkins may be picked up on Monday November 1 until 5:30pm. After this time, all pumpkins will be disposed of and sent to the great pumpkin patch in the sky.
