From the promoter:Kansas City Art Institute professor and sculptor Karen McCoy will discuss Talking Trees, her new collaborative work with sound artist Robert Carl. Talking Trees is the Spencer Museum’s and KU’s contribution to KCAI’s 125th anniversary celebration. The project takes the form of listening stations connected to trees in front of the Spencer and in Marvin Grove and incorporates an interactive auditory component; a companion piece on the KCAI campus completes the connection between the two institutions.
