Author Michael Halleran conducted extensive research into reports that members of Masonic lodges aided fellow Masons on the opposing side during the U.S. Civil War. The result is the Better Angles of Our Nature: Freemasonry in the Civil War, a look at the general nature of 19th-century freemasonry in the U.S., and the ways Masonic brotherhood functioned during the Civil War. Co-sponsored by Raven Book Store, which will make copies of the book available for purchase and signing. Free and open to the public.
