Event details

The Bears of Blue River are friends with day jobs who began gathering in the evenings to make silly noises in a dilapidated old apartment with wooden floors. Soon they found themselves playing folk diddies dressed up with some bop about them. Their roots define them as Hoosiers but currently they are split between Chicago, Indianapolis, and Muncie. The group's debut EP "The Killer Bee Scare" were recorded with Tyler Watkins (engineer/bassist of Margot and the Nuclear So and So's) and Richard Edwards (producer/singer-songwriter of Margot and the Nuclear So and So's). Lawrence's Another Holiday went on a bit of a hiatus while singer Katlyn Conroy finished and released her debut solo album "I Think I'll Stay Inside" (one of our favorite records of 2009). Though the two acts can sound quite similar, Another Holiday functions more of a group effort with each member contributing to the songwriting process. The result is a reflective and swooning variety of pop-rock along the lines of Eisley, Mirah, and Rilo Kiley.
