After a one-week delay due to winter weather, state legislators in the Douglas County delegation are scheduled to speak at a forum this week organized by the Lawrence branch of the American Association of University Women. The forum will be 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, at the Dole Institute of Politics, 2350 Petefish Drive, on Kansas University’s West Campus. Legislators will take questions from the public. Organizers will serve coffee and cookies at 6:30 p.m. Last year, House Minority Leader Paul Davis and Reps. Barbara Ballard, Ann Mah, Tom Sloan, of Lawrence, and Tony Brown, of Baldwin City, attended. Sen. Marci Francisco, of Lawrence, and Sen. Tom Holland, of Baldwin City, also attended. The 2010 Kansas legislative session began Monday.
