The KU School of Music presents the KU Symphony Orchestra, Friday, Feb. 19, 2010, 7:30 p.m., Lied Center of Kansas. Tickets are $7/gen admission and $5/students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased at the Lied Center Box Office, 785-864-2787. The KU Symphony Orchestra will perform Overture to Der fliegende Hollander (The Flying Dutchman) by R. Wagner; An American in Paris by Gershwin; Techtonic Plates by Bryce Ingmire (Ingmire is the winner of the 2009 George Lawnor Prize for orchestral composition); and Capriccio Espagnol by Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov. David Neely, KU Director of Orchestral Activities, will conduct along with student conductor James H. Lee.
