Event details

The Kansas University School of Music presents the KU Holiday Vespers concert today at the Lied Center, 1600 Stewart Ave.

In its 85th year, the KU Holiday Vespers concert will feature both orchestral and vocal performances of classic English, Welsh, and Swedish carols, as well as pop songs and contemporary classics. Simon Carrington, former director of choral activities will conduct a portion of the performance. Carrington spent seven years working with both the choir and the orchestra before leaving.

Other guests include KU’s glee club Genuine Imitation, the Chamber Choir, and the First United Methodist Church Celebration Ringers.

In all this is a great opportunity to get in the spirit of the season and support the students, faculty, and community in the process. Tickets are $12.50 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. They can be purchased at Lied Center Ticket Office, the Murphy Hall Box Office and the SUA box Office. There are two performances; the first and 2:30 p.m. and the second at 7:30 p.m.
