2008 SAUVIGNON BLANC, LAKE COUNTY, CA The 2008 Sauvignon Blanc from the Seventy Five Wine Company tells the story of what California Sauvignon Blanc is supposed to be. This wine is terrific. The addition of the Sauvignon Musque clone to this year’s vintage has created a wine with incredible intensity of flavor combined with wonderful lightness and crisp acidity. Fermented completely in stainless steel, this wine is aged sur lie for nearly three months, which adds to its weight and complexity. The wine shows notes of sweet toast, honeysuckle and fresh tropical melon intertwined with wonderful notes of lemongrass, fresh figs and wet stone. All of the power behind this wine is complimented by wonderful balanced acidity on the finish. The result is a wine of fantastic opulence and wonderful nuance.

2008 ‘THE SUM’, CA The second vintage of The Sum is a cabernet based blended red wine created by Tuck Beckstoffer whose family is widely considered to be the most famous grape growing family in the Napa Valley. This amazingly well endowed profoundly rich red wine must be smelled and tasted to be believed. The color is a rich, deep purple garnet and gives but a small hint as to what’s inside. The nose gives off soaring and wonderfully focused aromas of ripe stone fruit, vanilla, cherries, cedar cigar box, blackberries and cinnamon. In the mouth, there are layers upon layers of broad, sweet opulent fruit balanced by firm tannins, great acidity and oak.

2007 ‘AMBER KNOLLS’ CABERNET SAUVIGNON, RED HILLS, CA The 2007 Amber Knolls Cabernet raises the bar for wines made from the Red Hills Appellation of California. This wine possesses extraordinary power and depth of fruit that combine to create a wine of monumental richness while maintaining a wonderful seamless finish resembling some of Napa’s finest Cabernets. This wine showcases wonderful notes of blueberry and fresh ripe cherries interwoven with subtle graphite and toasty oak. It is incredibly fragrant and beautifully concentrated, all the while maintaining great acidity and a wonderful long finish.
