From Neon, 9/13/09: BACK TO WHERE IT ALL BEGAN... AS MANY KNOW, NEON WAS STARTED IN COCO LOCO'S IN JULY OF 2001 BY EDWIN MORALES AKA KONSEPT. SHORTLY AFTER THE PARTY BEGAN, KONSEPT TEAMED UP WITH STEVIE CRUZ TO HELP SEND THE PARTY INTO OVERDRIVE. BETWEEN THEN AND NOW THE INFAMOUS EVENT HAS GONE FROM 943 MASS, TO THE BOTTLENECK, TO THE GRANADA BACK TO THE BOTTLENECK AND NOW 8 YEARS LATER THE NATIONALLY KNOWN PARTY IS BACK TO 943 MASS. "AFTER HOSTING THE PARTY FOR SO LONG, IT FEELS GOOD TO COME BACK TO WHERE IT ALL BEGAN. AFTER ALL THIS TIME, PEOPLE ARE STILL SUPPORTING NEON IN STRONG NUMBERS SO IT MAKES SENSE TO BRING IT TO THE JACKPOT. IT'S A NATURAL PROGRESSION. " ALONG WITH THE CHANGE OF VENUE, NEON WILL BE CHANGING A FEW OTHER THINGS. THERE WILL BE A NEW DRINK SPECIAL ($1.25 PBR PINTS & $3 DBL. WELLS) AND WE WILL ALSO BE WORKING WITH PHOTOGRAPHERS WINO-MATICS AND GNARLY ENTERPRISES TO FILM VARIOUS NIGHTS AT THE PARTY. AS FOR THE MUSIC, IT WILL REMAIN THE SAME. THE MIX THAT NEON IS KNOWN FOR: ALL STYLES OF BOOTY SHAKING TUNES, SLOW JAMS, RARITIES AND ANTHEMS. WE ALSO LOOK FORWARD TO HOSTING SPECIAL THEMED PARTIES AT NEON AS WELL AS THE OCCASIONAL SPECIAL GUEST. RESIDENT DJ'S STEVIE CRUZ AND IGGY BABY WILL HOLD DOWN THE DECKS EVERY WEEK, WHILE KONSEPT WILL COME IN FROM CHICAGO ONCE A MONTH TO ROCK THINGS. IT'S A GOOD TIME FOR CHANGE AND NEON IS VERY EXCITED TO HAVE THE SUPPORT OF THE JACKPOT IN WELCOMING US BACK TO 943 MASS WHERE IT ALL BEGAN.
