This tour is brought to you by the City of Lawrence Waste Reduction & Recycling Division, the City’s Sustainability Advisory Board and the Heartland Renewable Energy Society. The Sustainable Homes Tour will occur in conjunction with the Lawrence Energy Conservation Fair on Saturday, September 12th. The focus is energy-saving techniques and sustainability through building design, efficient appliances, and use of green materials during remodeling. The tour also provides helpful, real-world examples of costs and how to save money with federal, state and local incentives. Tickets for the bus tour will be available for purchase ($10/adult and $2/child under 14) on first come, first serve basis, beginning at 9:30 am on Saturday, September 12th at the Community Building. The tour bus will depart from the Community Building at 10:00 a.m. (morning tour) and 1 p.m. (afternoon tour).
