Listen to our podcast preview of the new album. For all attention the Appleseed Cast garners, Chris Crisci’s side project Old Canes lays relatively low. Long-standing rumors of a follow-up to the Canes' debut "Early Morning Hymns" never seemed like they would materialize into anything that would ever see the light of iPod. Then last July came word of "Feral Harmonic," to be released by Omaha’s Saddle Creek. "Feral Harmonic" is musically darker but set to a similar assortment of acoustic guitars, toy pianos, bells and ramshackle drums familiar to Old Canes listeners. This week's CD release show at the Jackpot kicks off a tour that includes an appearance at the CMJ music festival in New York.
