Despite being a fictitious cartoon band from Adult Swim's "Metalocalypse," Dethklok will indeed melt your face and dissolve your ears in concert. Nathan Explosion, William Murderface, Pickles The Drummer, Toki Wartooth and Skwisgar Skwigelf will be performing "live" (meaning series creator Brendon Small and his touring band will be playing beneath a screen onto which animated videos will be projected), and no one shall be spared. Heavy on the Yngwie Malmsteen riffs, the real-life version of the band should thrill the black-metal contingent at least as much as Spinal Tap titillated the headbangers. Combine Dethklok with new metal heroes Mastodon, and—as Adult Swim has repeatedly broadcast—we have an extinction level event of brutal proportions. Listen to our podcast preview of Dethklok's last Lawrence appearance. And relive the hilarity of Nathan Explosion's l.com radio station ID.
