The 2009 homecoming celebration will hit full stride Saturday, Oct. 10, with the traditional parade down Jayhawk Boulevard led by grand marshal and former KU football star Gale Sayers. The parade will start at 9 a.m. and feature more than 50 entries ranging from the Marching Jayhawks and Miss Kansas to the Jayhawks Motorcycle Club and KU Motorsports. Other events that morning before KU football’s 11:30 a.m. kickoff against Iowa State include a pancake feed from 9 to 11 a.m. on the front lawn of Stauffer-Flint Hall. The KU Alumni Association is sponsoring a “Tailgate at the Adams Alumni Center” starting at 8:30 a.m.
