Considered the most significant symphony orchestra in Latin America, the Orquestra de São Paulo performs with infectious exuberance and breathtaking expertise. The Orquestra, led by talented American conductor Kazem Abdullah and joined by internationally acclaimed percussionist Evelyn Glennie, will present the Midwest premiere of a specially commissioned percussion concerto by legendary Brazilian composer Marlos Nobre. With Glennie’s superb technique, the Orquestra’s energy and precision, and Nobre’s exclusive program celebrating Brazilian rhythms, this dynamic event is not to be missed.
