Portugal. The Man (yep, there's a period in there) traces its roots back to Alaska and a post-hardcore band called Anatomy of A Ghost. The group has exhibited workaholic qualities since forming in 2005, releasing five albums covering a wide range of styles. Portugal. The Man's latest LP "The Satanic Satanist" is its catchiest to date, some of it sounding like a throwback to FM-friendly '70s rock.
