Minneapolis singer-songwriter Mason Jennings has developed a lyrical style filled with first-person narratives of salt-of-the-earth characters. No wonder he was selected to contribute two Bob Dylan covers in the Oscar-nominated movie “I’m Not There.” On his 11th record, “Blood of Man,” Jennings further showcases his penchant for exploring literary and historical themes alongside his distinctive rural-tinged delivery. Whether he's recording his albums in studios or isolated cabins, Jennings always sounds inspired and brimming with lovely melodies. He's been putting records with the Brushfire camp (Jack Johnson, Matt Costa, Rogue Wave) for the past few years, introducing him to wider audiences.
