BR549 frontman and Lawrence native Chuck Mead returns to his old stomping grounds to celebrate the release of his new album, "Journeyman's Wages." The road-worn Nashville troubadour and three-time Grammy nominee is striking out on his own with a new band after spending a decade on the road with BR549. The new venture allows him to explore a eclectic muse that spans honky tonk, R&B, rock, gospel and beyond. It's a sound more akin to his old Lawrence band the Homestead Grays than the hillbilly twang of BR549, reflecting lessons and slick tricks learned in the meantime. Listen to our podcast preview of "Journeyman's Wager".
