BR549 frontman and Lawrence native Chuck Mead returns to his old stomping grounds to celebrate the release of his new album, "Journeyman's Wages." The road-worn Nashville troubadour and three-time Grammy nominee is striking out on his own with a new band after spending a decade on the road with BR549. The new venture allows him to explore a eclectic muse that spans honky tonk, R&B, rock, gospel and beyond. It's a sound more akin to his old Lawrence band the Homestead Grays than the hillbilly twang of BR549, reflecting lessons and slick tricks learned in the meantime.
