Although they now share a name with a restaurant chain, time was Salty Iguanas were one of Lawrence's hottest bands. Led by the searing blues guitar riffery of Barry Osbourn and the Bonham-esque pummeling of drummer Jesse Larson, the Iguanas were one of the rare acts during the post-alternative boom to favor the Allman Brothers more than Soundgarden. Now after a decade-plus hiatus, the band returns for a one-time show as part of the Lawrence Reunion event weekend. Fellow popular act of the era Lonesome Houndogs join the fracas.
