Our podcast interview with Thao.
Thao Nguyen is one of the best performers you'll ever find with just an acoustic guitar, but the addition of a band called the Get Down Stay Down made her 2008 release "We Brave Bee Stings and All" a stellar sophomore effort. Thao's style is rooted in folk music, but her band is irresistibly funky and danceable. With support from Kill Rock Stars Records and a nonstop touring regime, Thao and TGDSD are finally getting their due. The group is playing a bunch of new tunes on its current tour, which also features two great opening acts in Sister Suvi and Samantha Crain.
