Elvis Perkins is one of the most astute songwriters of the modern era, penning lyrics and melodies that Frank Sinatra would go for but generally appealing to a younger, hipper demographic. His group Elvis Perkins in Dearland—also the name of his recent album—arranges his strummy tunes for upright bass, accordion, drums, and keys. Anyone who digs on Josh Ritter or Langhorne Slim will likely pick up what Perkins is putting down, as will Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen diehards. Opener Other Lives is a quintet from Oklahoma that encompasses elements of folk, British progressive rock, and bits of traditional Spanish music. 8:30 doors / 9:30 show
