Jimmy Spits (formerly known as J Murda) is a rapper from Columbia, Mo. Taking inspiration from emcees like Brother Ali, Atmosphere, Lyrics Born and Murs, Spits independently released his new album "Leaps and Bounds."Kansas City rapper Negro Scoe has been doing his thang since 1995 or thereabouts with the Hip Hop Addicts crew and the Symbol Heavy Collective. He instructs area youth on the basics of emceeing at the Hip Hop Academy at The Creative Minds Community Art Center in KCMO and also gigs with The Cosigners — a live hip-hop band that blends in funk, rock and reggae.
