Being the grandson of hill-country blues legend R.L. Burnside didn't cut Cedric Burnside any extra slack -- he had to earn his place behind the drum kit just like anybody else. By the age of sixteen Cedric had well earned his position with Burnside and he smartly abandoned his Mississippi schoolwork to hit the road. In 2007 he teamed up with guitarist Lightnin' Malcolm to form a creative partnership known as Juke Joint Duo. A Missouri native, Malcolm has played over the years with Mississippi bluesmen such as T Model Ford and Jr. Kimbrough. Together, the "2 Man Wrecking Crew" or Burnside and Malcolm delivers authentic blues with a Deep South flavor -- i.e. no "Blues Hammer" B.S.
