Opening reception for “Midwestern Expansion”

Event details

The University of Kansas announces the opening of its 2009 Graduate Student Exhibition Midwestern Expansion. With more than twenty participating artists, viewers will have a chance to see a selection of superb work spanning several disciplines and media: sculpture, printmaking, video, installation, painting, drawing, ceramics, textiles, metalsmithing and jewelry. Midwestern Expansion features the creative work of KU Art and Craft graduates and will be on display at the University of Kansas Art and Design building from February 15th through February 27th. The artists may be of collective mind, but their subject matter is diverse. This exhibition illustrates the myriad viewpoints of the human experience. The opening reception will take place on Thursday, February 19th, from 5 pm until 7 pm in the Art and Design gallery. Please join the artists in celebrating their accomplishments. The opening reception is free and the public is welcome.
