Event details

"Hill country boogie" is the term often used to describe the North Mississippi Allstars, a Southern power trio influenced in equal measure by delta blues, gospel and classic rock. Founded by brothers Luther and Cody Dickinson (both of whom learned the ropes from juke-joint gurus like R.L. Burnside), the band's early recordings were stacked with southern-fried blues standards like "Shake 'Em On Down." Subsequent efforts veered more towards southern rock in the vein of ZZ Top or The Allman Brothers; a niche that powered the group towards the top of the festival circuit. The Allstars' long-awaited retrospective project "Do It Like We Used To Do" recently arrived as a 2 CD/1 DVD package that documents the band’s origins and a decade's worth of live performances.
