Max Sherman, professor emeritus and former dean of the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas – Austin will speak about the life of his friend and colleague Barbara Jordan. Jordan was the first African-American woman from a southern state to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives. Sherman will discuss his collection of her greatest speeches and her contribution to American politics.
