The Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department will have a second all-day H1N1 vaccine clinic in Lawrence next Wednesday. Dec. 30 The clinic will be from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Community Health Facility, 200 Maine. The first all-day clinic on Monday drew 599 people. Clinics also are scheduled for Eudora and Baldwin City in early January. They will be: • From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Jan. 6, Eudora Middle School, 2635 Church St. • From 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Jan. 7, Baldwin High School, 415 Eisenhower St. The clinics are for any Douglas County resident who wants protection from the virus. There is no charge and no appointment is necessary. The health department encourages children younger than 10 who have received their first dose of the H1N1 vaccine to get their second immunization shot at the upcoming clinics. A period of one month must have passed between the child’s first and second doses. To help expedite the process, clients are encouraged to download a consent form at www.ldchealth.org, fill it out and take it to the clinic. A second consent form must be filled out for children receiving their booster shot.
