Check out our retrospectacular look back at 20 years of The Sandbar. Street dancing, street vendors, patio drinking, and more... 8th Street in front of The Sandbar—between Massachusetts and New Hampshire streets—will be close beginning at 5 p.m. The show starts at 8 p.m. Mark Valentine and the Number Ones will perform a live concert featuring the Sandbar's favorite jukebox and parade float songs. Dancing showgirls, mystery guests, and the KU Bar Band, which started at The Sandbar, will be featured. It's a family friendly event. No alcohol will be allowed in the street, but an extended patio area with a special beer garden will be open just for the evening. Bottled water, soda, and food will be available for purchase. More info at the Sandbar blog.
