The community will have a variety of opportunities to celebrate spring with public concerts provided by KU’s choral ensembles. KU’s University Singers will perform on Sunday, April 19, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lawrence, during the 8:30 a.m. church service. The KU Women’s Chorale will perform on Monday, April 20, at 7:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in downtown Lawrence. This concert will feature folk music of Ireland, Newfoundland and the United States. KU Vocal Collegium Musicum, featuring a variety of early music, will perform on Tuesday, April 21, at 7:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Lawrence. Also performing will be the KU Men’s Glee Club, featuring a variety of repertoire for the male voice. The Ad Astra Singers and the KU Chamber Choir will perform on Wednesday, April 29 at 7:30 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lawrence. Sunday May 3, the Women’s Chorale will perform at Grace Episcopal Cathedral in Topeka, at 5:00 p.m. Monday, May 4, the University Singers will perform at St. Lawrence Catholic Center in Lawrence, featuring the choral and organ works of Kodaly The KU choirs enjoy nationwide stature, including recent appearances at regional and national American Choral Directors Association conventions, as well as Kansas Music Educators Association Conferences.
