Event details

Come meet a real astronaut! The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Kansas invites the community to experience a new, free, public series of performance-based lectures called CLAS ACTS. The first presentation, "My Life with the Hubble Space Telescope," will be given by Dr. Steven Hawley (professor of physics and astronomy). Dr. Hawley, 5-time NASA astronaut, will share his experiences in space, his perspective as a NASA insider, and his unique space memorabilia. Seating will be limited and available only to ticket-holders. Free tickets are available at the public library downtown. Parents are encouraged to bring their children. For more information, contact Jessica Beeson at 864-1767 or eliasb@ku.edu. This event is the first of eight monthly presentations, which will touch on a wide range of subjects, encompassing immigration policies, monsters, childhood obesity and more. All presentations take place on Sundays from 2 to 4 p.m.
