The University of Kansas Libraries will host a science fiction book sale in Watson Library's third floor on Tuesday, September 9 through Thursday, September 11. The sale will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 10 p.m. each day. The sale includes books that have been acquired by the collections efforts of KU Emeritus Professor James Gunn, director of the Center for the Study of Science Fiction, the libraries' duplicate holdings and those that do not meet collection development guidelines. The sale, which will offer an estimated 4,000 books, is open to the public on Wednesday and Thursday. On Tuesday, patrons must have a KU ID in order to purchase books. Hardcover books will be priced at $3 and paperback books will be $1. Payments can be made with cash or Master Card or Visa credit or debit cards. On Thursday, bags of books will be sold for $5. Proceeds from the sale will support processing and development for the science fiction collection at KU Libraries.
