Roving Kansas City vibraphonist Mike Dillon is always up to something, whether it's jamming with KC funk outfit Hairy Apes BMX or touring the country with Les Claypool or Ani Difranco. The confounding genre-bender recently released "Battery Milk," his debut as Mike Dillon's Go-Go Jungle. The trio cooks up funk and jazz grooves to get on the good foot, highlighted by veteran musicianship and mellifluous compositions that build a bridge between jazz great Lionel Hampton and left-field rockers The Minutemen. The ensemble recently toured with jam-funk icons Galactic and Zilla.
