Event details

Most Joe-the-Plumbers probably know Jonathan Richman as the crooner from "There's Something About Mary," but the rest of us hipsters know him as the suave frontman of The Modern Lovers. That band's seminal proto-punk songs like "Roadrunner" and "Pablo Picasso" laid the foundation for Richman's long and offbeat solo career. Known for his melancholy ruminations on love, Richman is a charismatic performer who isn't afraid to break into a dance or ad-lib impromptu onstage monologues. His poppy folk songs are simple and perfect, distilling complicated emotions into humorous and affecting punchlines. The cult-fave entertainer is currently touring to support his latest LP "Because Her Beauty Is Raw and Wild."
