One of the largest regional dog shows is taking place Oct. 10-12 at the 4-H Douglas County Fairgrounds.The Lawrence Jayhawk Kennel Club is hosting dozens of breeds and more than 1,000 dogs to the event, which includes conformation, obedience and rally competitions.Friday, Oct. 10 is dedicated to dalmatians, which are competing from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.From 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 11, and Sunday, Oct. 12, dozens of breeds will compete at the fairgrounds. Saturday also includes the Puppy Spectacular, where young handlers will lead puppies in the ring.All conformation events are in the main arena. Obedience and rally events are held in Building 21.No strollers or non-competing dogs are allowed.
