Jeremy Enigk spent most of the '90s fronting Sunny Day Real Estate, a band that many revere as forefathers of the emo sound (before it became co-opted by Hot Topic and MTV). His 1996 solo album "Return of the Frog Queen" is likewise admired for its lush orchestral-pop arrangements and introspective, spiritual lyrics. Enigk's voice is like none other; a dynamic instrument with a range and tenor rivaling Rufus Wainwright. His latest solo album "World Waits" sounds a lot like a Sunny Day record with its dramatic swells of sound and washy melodies. It's also vaguely reminiscent of one of Enigk's favorite bands: U2.NOTE: The Life and Times is no longer playing this show.
