Chow Nasty / Dreamend / Kid Dakota / Elias
Dancefloor funk & soul aficionado Peanut Butter Wolf lent his production talents to the debut record from Chow Nasty, a punk-funk party collective that bills itself as "the musical lube that keeps San Francisco slippery." Blending the cheese-doodle rock of Electric Six with a dose of Sharon Jones funk and some shameless disco grooves, "Super (Electrical) Recordings" is music for erotic aerobics, car chases and/or hardcore line dancing.Openers Dreamend and Kid Dakota are touring together en route to South By Southwest. Dreamend hails from the home of the Central Division Champion Chicago Cubs, hitting for the cycle with chiming guitars and drawn-out atmospheric jams similar to the Appleseed Cast. Kid Dakota is a guitar and drums duo from Minneapolis with a dynamic range that encompasses both the moody balladry of Sparklehorse and the high drama of Shudder to Think.Elias is an experimental guitar duo featuring Aaron Pillar of The Appleseed Cast and Mark Sanders of Black Christmas.
