Event details

Rose Hill Drive's three headbanging longhairs stir up a Black Sabbath-caliber racket with grooves galore. Somehow mistakenly thrown into the jam festival circuit (the band appeared at the 2006 Wakarusa Festival), the "Drive" is actually a full-tilt rock band with crunchy riffs aplenty and a swingin' rhythm section that rivals Queens of the Stone Age and Wolfmother. The Boulder group was named as one of Rolling Stone's "10 Artists to Watch" in 2007 and is currently touring to support its hard-driving new LP "Moon is the New Earth."The Whigs are a fresh-faced trio that recently graduated college and impressed ATO Records (home to Gomez, Mike Doughty and My Morning Jacket) with their indefatigable performances. The group plays it pretty straight ahead with concise rock tunes built for guitar, bass and big ol' drums. They recorded their new album "Mission Control" at an empty University of Georgia frat house, which is not to say its frat-tastic, but rather delightfully drunk with fraternal hooks.
