The Sonoma region of California isn't just producing fine wines, it's also serving up some vintage reggae. Sonoma-based Groundation has been around for a decade, generating an organic fusion of roots reggae, heavy funk/jazz fusion, and transcendental dub. The band's live shows are synonymous with its positive, communal outlook. Groundation is also the progenitor of Young Tree Records, a California-based indie label responsible for releases by artists such as The Congos, Pablo Moses, and Andrew "Bassie" Campbell.
