Ad Astra Per Aspera (early all-ages patio show)

7" release show with Paper Airplanes / Boo and Boo Too

Event details

Listen to our podcast preview of the new 7"Anyone who has heard Ad Astra recognizes the sound immediately: a frantic demonstration of noise and melody clashing joyously and wholeheartedly. Points of reference abound (Sonic Youth, Blonde Redhead), but Ad Astra's best attribute is its ability to sound more and more like itself. The group recently recorded some songs at Chubby Smith's rural Lawrence barn and will release the second in a series of four 7-inches tonight. Drummer Kurt Lane and keyboardist Julie Lane will be moving to New York this fall, so Ad Astra's summer shows will likely be its last in the area for awhile.
