Upon returning from tour with his band Sparta, Jim Ward spent some time with an acoustic guitar and laid down some tracks in his home studio. The results appeared in the form of a five-song EP titled "Quiet" on his own record label The Civil Defense League. Guests from Denali and Secret Life of Sparrows (which joins Ward on this tour) helped him flesh out the pretty acoustic numbers with piano, ukulele, harmonica and backup vocals. Sparta fans may be surprised to hear Ward's lighter side, which recalls folky pop acts like The Reindeer Section more than any of the bands Sparta would typically tour with.
