The Douglas County chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union defends the individual rights and liberties guaranteed to every person in this country by the Constitution of the United States of America -- even if that means defending the rights of the Phelps clan to picket with their "Thank God for 9/11" signs. The local ACLU chapter will be the beneficiary of two shows this week at the Eighth Street Taproom. Thursday's show features singer/songwriter Samantha Clemmons, Panda Circus, and Kansas City indie-folker Brother Bird. Friday's lineup includes live-electronic experimentalist Gerald Stokes and electro-pop partystarters Snugglebugs.Expect both shows to be a blast barring any last-minute injunctions from the ACLU.
