This show is a benefit for the VH1 Save The Music Foundation: a non-profit dedicated to restoring music programs in public schools across the country and raising public awareness about the importance of music participation for our nation's youth.Big Surrender is a new Lawrence band featuring singer Adam Murphy and former Waking Ashland guitarist Ryan Lallier. The group cooked up an expansive collection of songs at Black Lodge Studios during the past year. Purveying a poppy sound reminiscent of big-hook bands like Phantom Planet and The 88, the group looks to tour later this year and finalize plans for its debut record.Opener Andy Frasco is an early-20s chap with a poppy songwriting sensibility. He's performed with similarly lighthearted acts such as Hellogoodbye and Gavin Degraw, and he has a new album out on Lifeline Records called "Life in Neutral." Frasco is currently performing 96 benefit concerts in 120 days for the VH1 Save The Music Foundation.
