Lawrence's Minus Story has been incubating its follow-up to its smashing 2007 album "My Ion Truss" while midshipman Jordan Geiger preps the debut of his side project Hospital Ships (a collaborative effort with an enticing hodgepodge of local musicians). The group recently recorded a live session for KEXP radio, capitalizing on the strides they've made as a touring unit. Geiger also recently wrote and performed the score for the independent film "Al's Beef" (starring Jordan Ladd of "Death Proof" and Dean Stockwell of "Quantum Leap"), which premiered January 31 in Los Angeles.Suzannah Johannes is the newest addition to the Range Life Records roster. The talented songstress will release her debut album in June, featuring backing from Ghosty's Dave Wetzel and Josh Adams. Her mellow tunes employ fingerpick guitar, piano, percussion and brush drums to convey lovely melodies that could sit comfortably beside a campfire.Minus Story tour mates Tre Orsi hold down the fort in Denton, Texas. The power trio features contributors to Shearwater/Okkervil River (Howard Draper) and South San Gabriel (Bryan VanDivier) who team up to jam out alternately sludgy and clean indie rock. The group recently released a debut 7" and shared some shows with Magnolia Electric Co. and Casiotone for the Painfully Alone.
