Dole Lecture by Tom Brokaw

Tom Brokaw will return to the Dole Institute to give the 2008 Dole Lecture and discuss his latest book "Boom! Voices of the Sixties: Personal Reflections on the '60s and Today," World War II, Senator Dole and the current presidential campaign. He last visited the Institute in July 2003, when he emceed the dedication of the building in KU's west campus. The Dole Lecture is given each spring, around the date of Senator Dole's wounding in Italy, by a nationally prominent figure that addresses some aspect of contemporary politics or policy. Signed copies of "Boom!" and "The Greatest Generation" will be available for purchase after the lecture. The lecture is free and open to the public. The Institute will keep regular hours, opening at 9:00 a.m. the day of the event. No tickets are required.At 10:00 a.m. The Dole Center will be screening "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. Hot dogs and soft drinks will be sold from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
